Senior / Principal Geotechnical Consultant

We are now expanding our Geo consultancy unit within the UK. We are looking for a Principal level Geotechnical Engineer to lead the team through management, direction, sign off and business development. You will have direct impact on a UK Consultancy team of approximately 8.

The role will involve both site and office based tasks and will include providing support other regional projects across the business as required.

The position provides an ideal opportunity for an ambitious, energetic and capable individual who is confident in communicating effectively with colleagues, multi-disciplinary teams, contractors and regulatory authorities and able to demonstrate competency in decision making during site works. Working independently or as part of a project team, delivering high quality work and achieving client-led deadlines, you will have a strong understanding of site investigation techniques (familiar with most in situ testing methods, trial pitting, dynamic sampling, cable percussive drilling, auger drilling, conventional rotary), geotechnical knowledge including foundation design and slope stability, mining investigations, contaminated land and planning.

You will also be familiar with scheduling laboratory testing (chemical and geotechnical) and have the ability to interpret results, write factual and interpretative reports, conduct walkovers and perform a variety of site investigation fieldwork tasks. Competency in the logging of soils to EN ISO 14688 and Eurocode 7 as well as up-to-date environmental guidance such as BS10175 is essential.

This role requires a full UK driving licence.
